Two 3.2 Heater Backdating Questions

I have checked all the past posts and I can't find that these two issues are addressed.

I am backdating my 3.2 with a left 930 heater duct to clear the Carrera distributor. My exhaust is stock and will be changed later.

1. Once the heater blower is disconnected, what should be done with the wire with the electrical connector on the end? Is there some way to disconnect it on the other end? I don't want to cut it, as I worry about other electrical consequences.

2. The 930 left heater duct has an opening of 2 3/8 inches in diameter and the metal duct coming up through the engine tin, behind the distributor, near the back of the car, is 2 3/4 inches in diameter. How should these two be connected? The Porsche reducers, used in other parts and years of heaters, do not fit.

Can I wrap heatproof tape around the smaller pipe to fit the 2 3/4 inch hose? Any other ideas that are neat and reliable?

Cordially, Greg

Whenever I am relaxing and working on my Porsche, I find myself remembering Warren. With appreciation for your life, dear unmet friend.
