What should be in a 69 tool kit?
I'm looking at buying a 1969 tool kit, what should be included in it? What would be a good price to buy the kit at? Does anyone have a complete kit that they could take a picture of? Mike

A complete toolkit will set you back between $750 and $1500 depending on condition.
Here's a link to a NOS kit that sold last year: http://www.early911sregistry.org/forum/showthread.php?t=18480&highlight=toolkit For '69, the bag needs to be "elephant hide", not basketweave as shown in the link.

ditto on the Early Reg. There's one screwdriver that is worth it's weight in gold. It's all pretty stoopid to me. Be careful when buying.

I have one in the basketweave bag I was planning to sell. You can usually trade these 1 for 1 for the correct bag.

I agree with milt!
buy a later toolkit for a few Hamiltons - or buy some individual tools that are rusty but lack the patina of early tools, lack the special beveled edge on the "correct" pliers, etc. etc. and you will save huge amounts (or pay a fair price)... rusty tools can be replated and that screwdriver is not all that great functionally anyway People are treating the early cars and their accessories like they are Picassos... they aren't. sorry if I rubbed anyone's patina the wrong way |

Great info
Thank You for all the great information! Maybe a silly question but what years would be the same or similar to the 1969 kit? Because mine is MFI would it have anything additional, different or deleted? Thanks Mike

69-73. No additional tools really; fewer actually. 65 - 67 had some additional items like a Mesko tire pressure gauge.
