'80 SC stock except for 964 cams and backdate with sport muffler.

Car will not idle at warm up.
New Warm up regulator.
Working AAR.

Does it immediately stop after starting?

Does it pop and bang @ a low rev right after starting?

Have you checked the ccp? The mixture? Air leaks?

You may have to richen the mix because of the new muffler.

Yes immediatly wants to stop, I give it a little gas to keep it going.

Some poping but not a lot.

I did a check for leaks (with a smoker) and none were found, I might try it again.

Still need to check Control pressures.

Noah is lending me a Co sniffer this week. after we meet up I will know more.

Thanks
Chris

Chris,

Could you please elaborate your leak test (with a smoker)? It caught my curiousity and interested to know about it. Thanks.

Well, a smoker is a tool that is made by Snap-On, it is just that, a smoker. It is hooked up to 12Volts and pressurized air and it makes smoke, you find a spot to hook it up (I used the pop-off valve opening) then take off the boot and seal it so smoke cant come back through the intake plenum. When I turn it on it puts a lightly pressurized "smoke" into the injection system, this includes everything that comes and goes from the air side of the injection system. if there are leaks this will eventually find it, becusae a leak will be the easiest way out.

When you get it warmed up, how does it idle? At what speed?

With a vacuum leak, the idle will be rough even when hot.
Is the idle smooth after the engine is warmed up?
Sounds more like an issue between WUR (Cold Control Pressure) - AAR - AAV.
