Who lives in Ft. Collins - Loveland, CO? Pelican Gathering?

Who lives in Ft. Collins - Loveland, CO?
I need to spend 4-5 days there.
Lets have a Porsche gathering.

Guys & gals,

I need to spend some time (4-5 days) in Ft. Collins this month (Feb. ’07). How about we have a Northern Colorado RMR-PCA & Pelican Gathering? Perhaps a weekend afternoon early evening at a local restaurant.

How about another Pelican work session?

Please email me with your ideas.

Best,
Grady

Don't live anyhwere near there but if you need a subject for your work session i can provide a distributor that needs a rebuild! How fun would that be!

If you'd rather i could send a gas tank out for complete refurbishment...but i think the distributor would be a better subject

Hi Grady,

The folks in this thread ended up meeting in Loveland. I'm guessing a few of these guys might be interested. Quite a few Pelicans showed up for the inaugural meeting.

denver workgroup

I'd love it if you came by my shop (ok, just a messy garage) and give me some pointers on my car. I may try to fine-tune the shift linkage (shift pattern alignment) and I'm not sure how to do this.

Regards,
Martin

Cool, I would be up for this!
I'm sure the rest of the denver workgroup would be also. Alot of the folks that showed up were in Northern CO. It was a small turnout last time due to weather but fun none the less.

Of course it all depends on when, and if the boss(wife..) is okay with me taking a night for the cars..

Count me in!
Any idea of the date, Grady?
I know this weekend is not good for me, not sure about the other people.
I'm sure my porsche crazy friend will show up also.

OK,

I’ll go to Fort Collins Thursday Feb. 22 after a Dr. appmt. and return to Denver Feb. 26-27 in time to go to the Porsche literature swap at LAX Hilton... . That lets us play over the weekend of Feb. 23-25 and more.

We have:
Craig, Martin S., Tom B., Justin E., Greg E., Doc W, Bill, Roger B, Michael M, Richard S. Who else?

Where should I stay in Fort Collins? I need a regular hotel/motel with food and services.

Any/every evening I’m willing to host a Pelican party. We can have a Pelican tech session or work group as possible. I can bring tools (within reason).

My mission is to reconnoiter social services, sheriff probation office, social security, AA, inexpensive housing, appropriate activities and other. I intend to move a kid I once foster-parented (20+ years ago) and is currently in jail for “drunk & disorderly” in Colorado Springs. I have a friend who will employ him full time and more.

This exercise may work or possibly not. I intend to have systems in place to prevent failure. If this fails, so be it. It won’t be because I and many others didn’t try.

While my Porsche contacts aren’t involved in this, I would appreciate any help.

Porsche contacts will help me survive this exercise. Thanks in advance.

Best,
Grady

Here is the thread about the kid.
Foster kid returns

Interestingly he is older than many of you. It is our collective responsibility to make this person into a productive citizen.

I feel that it is my (or our) responsibility to play a part in making that happen.

Best,
Grady

Grady, I am out of town starting Feb 23 thru March 3rd on vacation in Belize. I would love to be a part of what ever you put together but I will not have time before I leave to do more than meet a few guys for a long lunch or something.
I would stay at the Marriott in Ft. collins they have a nice restaurant and it is centrally located in town.
I am back in town for 5 days then leave on another business related trip on march 11th thru the 17th
Let me know if you need help finding a job for the man you are so generously trying to help. I know several people in the area that I could call.

Grady,
You are a good man, I hope this 'kid' appreciates all you are doing for him.
Justin is right, the Marriot is a good one. Just FYI there is also a Hilton and a Marriot Courtyard. Not sure how well you know Ft. Collins, but the hotels are (north to south): the Hilton is on Prospect Rd, the Marriot is on Horsetooth Rd, and the Marriot Courtyard is on Harmony Rd. The Hilton is closest to the downtown area where the sheriff, probation office, etc is.
I can probably make a day/evening gathering on Sat, Feb 24, not sure about something on Friday, Feb 23 or Sunday Feb 25. Depends on my wife and what plans she might have!

Looking forward to this!
Craig

OK guys.

I’m booked at the Marriott in Ft. Collins 2/22/07 through 2/27/07 assuming it isn’t blown away with 100+ mph winds today.

That seems to be a suitable gathering place and we can also gather at local eateries.

Marriott
350 E. Horsetooth Road
Ft. Collins, CO 80525
970-226-5200

I need to deal with various organizations Thursday & Friday and Monday & Tuesday. Who would like to host a PCA/Pelican technical gathering(s?) over the weekend? Do I need to bring any Porsche tools or info?

I’m available for breakfast, lunch or dinner almost any time except lunch Friday 2/23 and Monday 2/26. I want to leave those open so I can accomplish my mission.

I’m not all that exciting to be around but I am willing to institute a gathering of Porsche enthusiasts. I’ll bring some posters for you guys to raffle or something.

Best,
Grady

Please post here or preferably email me at gradyclayathotmaildotcon. I’m not sure I will be online there and I don’t have a cell. Lame ol’ me.

Best,
Grady

I'd like to meet you guys. My P-car is at my mother-in-laws house for the winter and has a dirt/mud road in which my car will not make it out until all this snow and mud goes away. I work Saturaday but could meet for introductions in the evening.

Regards,
Kris

Looks like Saturday afternoon (the later, the better) or Saturday evening will work best for me also.
I am busy tonight, and Friday night is for me and my wife. Not sure how Sunday shakes out yet.
Too bad there is snow in the forecast, we may not be able to see each other's P-cars til May the way things are going

LIke I posted earlier, Friday is my daughters 4th birthday, so I am booked tomorrow night and pretty much all day Saturday. I have though, left Sunday wide open until about 615 when I have to head to the rink to play hockey. And yes, I am damn tired of the snow.

Guys,

Yes I am at the Marriott - FOR TONIGHT ONLY!

Would you beleave their internet system won't let me access MSN/Hotmail! Sorta like saying you can't dial any area code starting with 3.

Anyway, I haven't received any email.

Please leave me messages at the Marriott (970-226-9612) tonight with your contact phone numbers. At least I can use a phone.

I'm going to watch a friend "jam" at a little bar in LaPort (US-287 W. of Overland Trail.) It is called "Swing Station." I'll be there 7:30 - 9ish. He is a serious Porsche, Ferrari and more person.

Best,
Grady
