Porsche rims "cup design"?

I bought these rims and tires a while ago. Got a good deal so had to buy them

Here is a close up of what one looks like

They are 16" rims
16x7 front - 993.362.114.00
16x9 rear - 993.362.118.01

I have 16" fuchs on my car now, I am just wondering if I want to use these or my fuchs when I do the repaint. I know that at minimum, I will need spacers to use these if I go that route.

My question is what did these originally come on?

Thanks

Shawn

I believe those are Boxster wheels originally. The cups didn't have the indents in the spokes IIRC.

Wrong. Like the PN says, they came on the 993.

Will I be able to fit the 9's in the rear of my 77? I am going to be installing SC flares, but I am wondering if the 9's will be too wide?

Thanks
Shawn

I had these wheels on my SC with 1 inch front and 2.25 inch spacers and they fit just fine with a 245/45/16 tire on the rear, 205/55/16 tire on the front. I used Boothe spacers/adapters that bolted to the stock hubs.

Very nice

Can I ask where you got the spacers and how much they cost?

Yep.

I bought the spacers/adapters from Boothe Designs. i think I ended up paying close to 400.00 for everything. Had I known then what I know now........

I would have searched the classifieds of Pelican. I wasn't aware of this fantastic forum at the time.
The pop up for sale now and again.

I went back to stock wheels so as to be rid of the extra weight of the spacers. The car feels more nimble now. Probably butt dyno results but I am happy.

I used Dupli-color wheel pain in Graphite to paint the same wheels a couple of years ago. They turned out nice but I got bored with that color and went back to stock silver.THEN i got bored with the wheels altogether and went for the Fuchs.

Does anyone know if it is even possible to run these rims ona stock narrow body car (77) WITHOUT the SC flares?

If possible what size spacers would be needed.

I am not installing the flares until next year and would like to try the tires prior if possible

Thanks

Shawn

Yes, they came on 993s, but they are NOT Cup wheels. Cup wheels are 17s and have no 'indention' on the spokes.

Hey Shawn,

I don't think the rears will fit without the flares.

These are not cup wheels at 16". But if I'm not mistaken (and I very well could be as I suffer from terrible CRS), the 993's had cup wheels with indented spokes as opposed to the flat-spoke 964 cup wheels. In particular I remember the GT-2 2-piece wheel with indented spokes. I always thought flat spokes would have looked better.

Ah, dont confuse the 'SuperCup' wheels with these one piece OEM wheels...

993 CUP

993 16

964 CUP

You could do 7's on both ends with 1" spacers, I think... maybe?. A similar look.

Wonder if 8's (do they make and 8?) would... doubt it.

Depends also on how low your car is, too, I think.

The fluted 16s show a passing resemblance to the fluted Speedline 18s used on 993RS, 993Cup, 993GT2
here's mine w/ oem 8 & 10 x18 993 RS Speedlines

the Cups used centerlock versions of the same wheel

the 964 design 92 was certainly one of the cleanest designs used
