No 993 Targas in "widebody" were produced by the factory, AFAIK.

Wide body 993's are known as C2s and C4s. The 2 and 4 designating 2 or 4 wheel drive.

Can you tell which one is a C2S and which one is not?

The fender appearance is very subtle when they are side by side, but I believe the widebody is 2.5" wider in the rear (edit: that's 1.25" per side). The tell-tale sign is the difference in the rocker appearance.

Do a search under the username "Rattlesnak" - he did a very similar rebuild.

If you like to rebuild broken cars, can determine the condition of the engine, CEL issues, etc., and can do all the labor yourself, then it's probably worth less than $10K - parts value.

I'd be very concerned with repairing a Targa - that's one expensive roof if things are not working right due to the hit.

Nice wheels, they might be worth having.

I had a standard '96 993 Tip Coupe and the back of this car looks the same. Not sure if they even made any wide body targa 993's. I've never seen one.

If you dont want it, Ill take it! That is a way easy fix. That being said, i would put the value of that car @ $8-10K tops. There are far too many decent ones out there for mid $20Ks now. Even if you were to spend @ $6k on it to fix it, (which i dont think this one needs) then you could resell it for @ $18-20k range and be ok.

The car is already at $11,300 for preliminary bid. It will easily bring $12-$14K.
110K miles
Salvage title

I think I rather get into DEPT!!!! LOL

Nope, that is a narrow body... only 993TTurbo, C2S and C4S were made in wide body (well, and a limited amount of cabriolets as I recently found out...)

BTW, they call the 993 a targa, but it's really a sliding glass sunroof.

And it has many problems. Complicated. Much time/effort/money to keep it operating and not rattling.
