alternator alignment

In the posted picture, is the alternator housing aligned properly?

When I removed the alternator, I took pictures; however, I do not have a picture showing the alignment prior to disassembly.

For those who are going to remove/replace your alternator, I would suggest marking the housing and the fan Housing.

I recall the "notched-out" section of the plastic funnel being at the bottom.

Are you talking about the air guide? Look at pic below. This shows the correct orientation of the air guide

I would suggest putting the guide back in before attaching it to your fan housing. The wires that run to the alternator must run through the air guide first. It would be impossible to reconnect the wires to the alternator if the guide is already fitted.

Make connections to alternator ... then button up the air guide to the fan housing.
