Somewhere I have seen a template for locating the hole, just can't tell you where. You have to use a hole saw to do the job and while it can be done with the gas tank in, it is probably easier with it out. On the older cars 74-75, the tube was marked where the hole needed to go, don't think that is the case on SC's and Carrera's. It is very straight forward once the holes are drilled and reinforcing plates have been installed.

You should be able to look in your fender well and see a triangle with a circle in it, the circle is where the bar goes through you will need to drill a hole here and the triangle is where you drill the holes for the bushing mount if that is the type mount you have. I have a 78 sc tub and it had this stamped into the tub. The U tabs go on the a arm if they are not there already weltmister used to and might still sell a U tab kit with instuction on locating and attachment, but that was 16 years ago that I did this mod.

although not for your bar, these instructions are well done and will give you a good idea of exactly where it goes.

Not providing a basic instruction sheet to a customer is assuming too much on the part of the manufacturer. Have you tried contacting them? Maybe the sheet separated from the product.

HAY !
Once again you dudes pull me out of my funk hole ! Thanks a bunch! Now you all have me going in the right direction. I see the u bolts are the option if I chose not to weld the thingies on ( I still think a couple of directions would have been nice from Mr. Tarrett )

Find a Porsche shop that will weld on the connections to the A arm, if not that will be a weak point for the sway bar, you spent good money to get the part, from my perspective, do the installation as it should be done. Call the supplier and ask for some printed instructions, if they can't supply then tell them you want to send the bar back. Once again, you paid real money for the part and deserve some detailed instructions.

I will tell you what I think I know.
This is the same as riding a bike, once learned - no problem. But out here in Der Dark Forest...one has to figure it all out with out a instruction sheet as to where EXACTLY some things go. No dimensions for lower A arm mt. pt. (seems to me that would be a high priority) Little hats..??? they are spacers for lower rod end assy. Which way the levers face "out" once mounted to sway bar? is anyone guess at this pt..I see pros and cons..clearance issues and leverage issues. Well back at it,, Stand on my head This is a Tarret Bar and shame on them They Cover.Their .Axx. by saying this should only be installed in a professional shop ...

Why not just call Ira at Tarett (858)674-5573
The bars come with instructions but if you've never seen one installed it could be a little confusing (and scary to take a holesaw to your baby!) The install is pretty straight forward and Ira can answer any questions you have. |

Why hasn't Tarett chimed in here to offer instructions and help, sounds like he has contacted them to no avail. That is one reason I buy from PP the customer service has always been top notch and helpful even when I have been cranky. One thing I find out on this forum is who not to buy from, so many show there true colors when they have to pony up some tech support or god forbid a refund!

My Pt. and grief is this.
I can read blue prints , schematics and the like, built a plane and a few boats Why in the Hexx can they not do a decent tech write up ? For almost 500.00 bucks............. GET OFF their SXX 1 sheet of paper with some vague pictures and the other side of it- the directions assumes you had a like sway bar there to begain with !!!! GGRRRR Or ARRGGHHH I have it all installed...just the the levers are the question... as they can mount to the sway bar with the thicker part inboard or out board
