Can I Adjust My Power Seats By Bypassing The Switches?
I need to clean or replace the two way switches for my power seats but don't want to get into it until next winter when the car is off the road.
In the meantime, I would like to manually lower/adjust the seats. I did several searches of the archives but couldn't find anything that specifically addresses doing this. Does anyone know if I can just apply 12 volts to the correct pins on the seat connectors under the seats to apply power to the appropriate motors to raise or lower the front and back of the seats through bypassing the switches? If so, are the pins numbered and which pin is for what? ( I also have heated seats) Thanks

You can but the switch applies 12v to one terminal and grounds the oppisite. depending on how your switch is damaged you may run into issues with a dead-short at the switch and make more problems. You could certainly pull the connectors off at each motor, ground one and 12v the other - if it goes the wrong way flip them around.
