Very nice project, must feel great to be almost done!
Excellent fit on the front bumper/RUF spoiler, is that from Dave at TRE? |
Aaron, it was still in pieces when you guys were here!
The front bumper I got from Steve Alacron (I believe getty makes his stuff), the tail is from Shaw, the rear bumper is from RaceDev (perfect fit) and the hood is from Rennspeed. Jeremy, the 3.6 I bought ended up beind sold to a friend. He posts on here regularily and we will be making a 3.8 out of it for his car. I think my next motor will use some larger Nickies...... Cheers |

Jeff
You work quick, You want a job on the East Coast? Keep it up, looking good. |
There is a lot of hours, as you know, putting it back together. Everything was labelled and bagged and the widows had their seals on etc before I started! The headliner was the longest job...
Cheers |
Will we see it at Sunpeaks for the PCA-CWR in August?
Or, you could organize a "Porsche North" now that Jeff has given up. :) Too bad that Duffy Lake Rd is so awful. Very nice landscape but........a lot of people have bottomed out on those roller-coaster bumps; very expensive. |
Gunter I am hoping to get to SunPeaks, I am sponsoring some of it, so I need to get there!
Cheers |
Dang! Nice work Jeff! A real head snapper and turner for sure. Well done!
|
Whoa! Awesome job - that's a serious commitment!!
|
lovely build looks pukka ,some very nice details........good job
|
Wow... Can't wait to see/hear it in person!
|
Awesome. Been a real joy following Jeff's progress. Kudos to him for all his posts and replies to keep everybody informed and get help. Anybody who's documented stuff like this knows it takes time to keep everyone involved with pictures and posts. Not to mention the guy's been developing the ITB setup + cooking up some new forged Fuchs replicas to manufacture!!!
Jeff, Do that hotrod some justice and throw some close-ratio gears in it. It'd be a shame not to, considering how far you've come! Congrats on reaching the apparent end of a long road coming. You're an inspiration to a lot of the faithful around here. |
Scales came early.....
Here it is with out me and a half tank of gas..... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1213466672.jpg And with me in it...... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1213466701.jpg Not wanting to start a corner balance method discussion, but after much research decided to optimize the left to right front weights for braking and sacrifice a little on the rear..... Cheers |
Jeff,
she(?) looks fantastic. Bring her around. I want to show you what I have in the garage beside the SC :) Cheers, Steve |
Cool steve, are you home most weeknights?
Cheers |
I run Tues and Thursday evenings but I am usually home by 8:00PM.
I need your opinion on what I should do with this. Wife says sell it. Son says keep it :) |
Jeff, she is turning out absolutely spectacular!
|
Thanks for the kind words guys.
This car took a back seat to many projects and now a couple projects are suffering while I get it finished (wheels come to mind) It goes for its alignment on thursday evening. I have a local shop here I work with that lets me do the tweeking on their rack. Up next will be the wheels.... yours first Ed! :) Kevin, I want to see how it performs on the two tracks I frequent before I re gear it. Maybe that will be the winter project. But both tracks are very different..... Cheers |
Love everything on that car. It is going to look super with the new Fuchs!
But I especially love the Alcantara covered dash... it makes it so race car... goes perfectly with the grey inserts in the Recaros. And the Prototipo without the horn button.... Love it. Great attention to details. I am sure you must be ecstatic after such a long wait! |
Sweet Jeff! It's just so clean and purposeful. Nice work!
-Chris |
I drive a production Porsche 911, wanting it to be/thinking it should be like what you built. Beautifully done Jeff.
|
sweet. gives me some inspiration
|
nicely done. but where's the 3.4? i don't see it. show it please...
|
I posted the links to the motor rebuild threads on page one or two of this thread.....
Cheers |
She is so nice, you want to arrange a saturday morning breakfast cruise?
|
Nice job Jeff! Can't wait to see it in person. :)
|
What make is that front bumper?
|
Beautiful interior work, truly an inspiration.
|
I got the bumper from Steve Alacron (sp?), he posts from time to time.
Cheers |
Hi Jeff, the dash area looks very clean (like everything else on the car!).
How about some more detail shots of your switches where the radio and air vent controls were originally. What dash cap is that? Something like that is on my list. Looking forward to your next write up from when you take it to the track/AX adjust some sway bars and find your limits. Remember to post some in car video too. |
I will get some more pics of dash shortly, it is really simple, 2 swithches and a brake bias knob.....
The cap I made from fiberglass. The mold got trashed on the last one I made. I still have one left to make another mold from when I get the time. Hitting the track on Aug 5 to see how it goes. Hopefully not too much tweaking required..... Cheers |
Car is very impressive. Love the color and the weight of 2225 is incredible. It will fly.
|
That thing just looks angry. Love it.
|
need to see some vids of this bad boy, great build looks quality :)
|
I will try to take some video on the track on the 5th, the sound in my camera sucks but the picture is not bad.....
Cheers |
Congrats! Looks like a project car we'll soon see featured in Excellence.

n00btacular question: How do you get the gauge bezels off? edit: N/M, found a tech article. I think the bezels make all the difference when it comes to the way your dash looks. |
Love it!! I only wish I could hammer the gas pedal!
Great work. |
I am speechless. What an incredible car Jeff. I certainly hope I get a chance to spot here in the lower mainland. Shouldn't be hard with that fantastic colour. My hat is off to you.
|
I am totally hooked on your gauges.
Did you strip and then put a finish on them or are they #PEL-PP912855 from Pelican? The Rennline bezels are polished, so not those. Page: http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/911M/POR_911M_ELgage_pg3.htm Photo |
