I am totally hooked on your gauges.
Did you strip and then put a finish on them or are they #PEL-PP912855 from Pelican? The Rennline bezels are polished, so not those. Page: http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/911M/POR_911M_ELgage_pg3.htm Photo |
richde,
I went with an Autometer tach in the car and wanted to match the other gauges to it. So I masked of the glass on them, primed them and painted them silver to match. I think the paint I used was VHT GM Rallye wheel silver. Took a couple of hours and about 10 bucks. You can't tell the bezels were not removed to paint...... Cheers |
I love your car!
How did you set up your sunroof or is it stock? |

Did you attack the track with it yet? |
I did two days back to back with it. First day had open track and 18 cars and the second day had 8 cars (3 from one race team) and was open all day. Got lots of time in it over those two days.
It was very hot out (for here anyways) and oil temp never went above 95C (about 205F). Car was fast, pulled great and gave me no troubles what so ever. The brakes are even better since I dumped so much more weight out of the car, I just need to use them harder! I did have to adjust a little more front brake into it after a couple of sessions but that was the only adjustment I made in the two days. The car is much faster than I am so I don't think I will make adjustments until I get more seat time in it. It was very balanced and easy to drive. It was a blast! Cheers |
Here are a couple of pics from the first day....

Jeff, you should be embarrassed showing that unpainted trunk!! :p
Two words sum it up for me: Mean Green! |

jumping on the bandwagon, nicely executed, all of it. Another too nice to track I'd understand if you wanted to avoid track rash. But it looks like a great dual purpose 911. Has it been covered in a mag already, somebody send Randy Wells some photos.:) |
Where's the radio?
|
Radio is behind the firewall! :)
Trust me, it was with great hesitation that I posted the pics with the mis matched colors..... :) I guess it gives me a winter project! Mike, the car is a great track car, amazing actually, but it makes a pretty suspect street car! It suits me fine but it is not for everyone on the street! I am flattered that some think it is mag quality, thanks for the kind words. I am sort of bummed now that it is pretty much done. I am thinking of punching the motor out to 3.7 over the winter or putting a Mediola S5 sequential box in it.... The 3.7 conversion is about 1/4 the cost of the sequential box but it would be cool to have a sequential box! Either that or it will go up for sale, and then off to the next project..... Cheers |
Hey those Robertson screws on the tail lights don't look too German ;)
|
Still searching for a more correct looking black screw....
Cheers |
whats that motor lurking in the background ?
ps want to come for a holiday in the UK and help me wire my ecu up :) |

The motor in the background is a 9.8:1 single plug 3.4 that will run motronic...
Cheers |
Nice job on the dual masters. Great looking mod of the factory bulkhead. Can you reach the brake bias knob when you're belted in the seat? Oh, and your red bias cable bracket isn't triangulated.............. :) ;)
|
I can just reach the knob with the harness on, just barely......
Cheers |
Jeff if you need more engine projects, I'll gladly send you mine for you to play with. One of these days I'd like to have a track only 3.4 with about 300HP. Only thing stopping me is the lack of available $$$.
|
Send it out, we can do that no problem!
Cheers |
without cash, you rule. :D
I'll definitly look you up when ever the time comes. |
:)
Cheers |
I'm sure Jeff will take a payment plan = $10 a week for how long?
How are those wheels coming Jeff?? |
