The 3.4 machine is almost done!!

After 33 months off the road, give or take a drive to break in the 3.4, the car is nearly done. I am taking it out on the local PCA drive Saturday morning (early) and then it needs a CB and alignment and a few little details cleaned up!! My scales will show up on wednesday to do the CB.

Car started life as a special order color 84 in Pacific Blue. I had built a warm 3.2 for it then took it off the road/track to build my own idea of what a DE/fun car should be. It has a 3.4 twin plug motor with ITB's that made 285hp at the wheels and weighs about 2225lbs empty!!

Car has 935 style coil over suspension front and rear and Brembo big brakes with a dual adjustable MC. Has a factory LSD too boot! Monoballs in all joints, SRP sways and Elephant racing front 935 strut brace.

Anyways, here are some pics of it today!!!

porsche930dude 06-12-2008 03:09 PM

Nice. engine pics?

Trotskyite 06-12-2008 03:09 PM

Looks great! What is that on your firewall?

Jeff Alton 06-12-2008 03:14 PM

Love the Hargett! Had a Wevo, like this better!

hmmm, engine pics, okay, the build was detailed on the engine rebuild forum. I will dig out some pics.

The wheels are going to be for sale, I will be using two sets of my new 17 inch fuchs for track and street.

On the firewall is the ECU (laptop programable) and the igintion box to fire the coils.

Cheers

Good man!

That car is just a perfect statement. Beautiful.

Elombard 06-12-2008 03:32 PM

Yah that pretty much has everything I would want. What is the dash treatment? Alcantara? Where did you source it and how did you install it?

RWebb 06-12-2008 03:37 PM

scary looking car, Jeff!

Jeff Alton 06-12-2008 03:39 PM

The dash is a custom FG piece I made (I have a mold) and then I covered it in a Alcantare like material. The one piece lower dash is from Rennline.

The Fuchs will make the car!!

Cheers

Johnb911 06-12-2008 03:47 PM

Nice.

I can't imagine not being able to drive it for so long.
Staring at it must have been killing you.

Johnb911 06-12-2008 03:49 PM

Jeff,

Who did your paint?

Travis Neff 06-12-2008 03:56 PM

Giddyup! That's badass!

Jeff Alton 06-12-2008 03:58 PM

Killing me? You bet! But the whole time I was working on it so that helps! I got to work on lots of other cool projects at the same time though!

Cheers

B18CXr 06-12-2008 04:05 PM

Very nice Jeff!!

juicersr 06-12-2008 04:09 PM

I like the way you have kept the interior rough, just like original factory factory cars when a small group of speed freaks ran the race shop. All bizness and no BS. U look ready for either Spa, Monza or the Targa.

Jeff Alton 06-12-2008 04:14 PM

Thanks guys!!

Was that thing not running last weekend? Guess not. I was wondering why you would be driving that dated GTI after Keith and I traveled all that distance to see your car! Anyway would have loved to have seen it in person, non the less it looks great in pictures.
