Has anyone dealt with German Auto Dismantlers or Cog's Cog's? I'm looking for a early 915, any other suggestions?

Do a search on PAP - it's the predecessor of GAD.

Much to my detriment, I have had dealings with Joe Cogbill / German Auto Dismantlers.
I related the FACTS to fellow pelicans in the following thread: Beware of this Porsche vendor Make your own judgment.

I ordered from them. They sent me a poor example of one part and the other one was for an SC (I have an 87). When I contacted them about returning the part and sending the correct one they seemed offended when I thought they should pay to ship the incorrect part back to them. They wanted me to ship it so them and then "call them in a few weeks" to make sure the return had gone through. I expressed that I thought it was really their responsibility to make sure the return was credited and send me the correct part. The conversation quickly descended into them "marking" my account and basically telling me never to order there again.
The part in question was an air box cover. Such a simple problem was an unnecessary and unpleasant experience. Customer service- poor. Product quality- poor. Responsibility- poor. I have them marked as never order again in my list of product suppliers. erik dorsch

I bought an aluminum Mercedes jack (3+ lbs) from them via ebay, no problems other than turnaround time. Larger items might be a different story. Not sure if they are still a valid ebay vendor.

I have purchased one small $ item from Parts Heaven...no problem. I think they have a good reputation but I'm sure some others will chime in.

I have had great dealings with both Parts Heaven and EASY. They are San Francisco Bay Area businesses that have been around for quite a few years and both, in addition to doing long distance business, support the local Porsche community.

Apologies in advance to Wayne or the mods if they don't want blunt feedback of places like this aired on this forum (I understand and will delete if necessary), but I feel like I need to do a "public service" duty here, since someone asked:
Here goes: Do NOT deal with GAD. Ever. I don't care how good the deal sounds. I bought a pair of "refurbished" 944 seats from them a few years back and when I got them they were rusted to hell and the sliders were seized up. I seriously think they'd been sitting outside in the rain for about five years - they just slapped some covers on 'em and passed them off as "refurbished". They were not terribly cheap either, especially after shipping. They are absolute experts at ducking phone calls and e-mails/deflecting people for weeks/shining people on too. Here is a summary of their business model as I see it: 1. Take people for whatever you can get them for - always making sure to get money up front 2. When they call up to complain/demand resolution, conveniently always be "out at lunch" or otherwise predisposed, or simply just don't answer. 3. If you stall people long enough, most of them will just go away. That's money in our pocket for each person you can get to "just give up trying". I literally had to download the forms from GA Magistrate's Court (their version of Small Claims) and threaten to file them (including being willing to fly out there to GA and appear, which I actually would have done) in order to FINALLY (after many weeks) get them to admit there had "been a mistake" and have them be willing to take the seats back for a refund. These guys are junkyard scum, plain and simple. I wouldn't touch them with someone else's 10-foot-pole. In fact, if I ever met Joe or David (the sales jerkoff I dealt with) in person, I'd be pretty hard-pressed to not immediately punch them square in the face and/or kick them in the balls - or both. A-holes. I typically do not wish harm on people, but I seriously DO hope in their case that they end up crossing the wrong person eventually and their shenanigans come back to them in spades, either physically or legally - or both. I really do. If I heard of them being sued into the stone age or being given a beat-down, I'd probably find who the individual was and buy them a free round for doing a public service. These guys make MotorScheister look good.

I have purchased many parts from them. I could not be happier. They treat you with respect and the parts that I have recieved have always been better than described. Also, if you are looking for a hard to find part they remember and will call you back when they come across the part. Big PLUS 1 for Parts Heaven.

It's a pleasure to endorse companies that are fair and care about their customers: EASY is among the best.

So Jeff, was that the original, or Wayne/mod-mandated edited PC version I just read?
I have had no FHE with these guys (either as PAP or GAD). But from what I recall from reading past threads, it seemed as if local buyers got OK service and goods. Those who had crummy experiences seemed to be from afar (as in, too far to come in person and kick a$$ if a deal went sour).

Part's Heaven and EASY are excellent businesses.
I have a friend here in Colorado who is out $5k on a GAD screw job, and as others have indicated, when he sees this friend's number on the caller ID he doesn't answer the phone.
