question to those who has a subwoofer in the front trunk.

How does it sound? Good (as good as in the back), ok, fine, who cares...
Currently I have 2 15" (or maybe 12") in a custom box taking up the whole rear area (no rear seats). Recently, I want to get rid of it and put seats back on in case I want to take my kids out in my car.

I always have subwf in the back, never the front. I know the stereo won't be as good as if it's in the back but I wonder how much different? Can someone describe a little detail? Anyone in SCal has done this so I can come by to listen for 2 mins?

Thanks.

I have one in the trunk - sounds nice with the engine off. Once it is running at high RPM's I don't hear much anymore of my stereo. But then, who cares.

Stop by in Santa Barbara whenever you want....

honestly, I turn on my stereo only several times a year. Someitmes I don't even know how long I have not touched those buttons. But since I have the system setup, I don't want to waste them if there is an option.
may I ask what size of the subwf and wattage of the subwf's amp. you are using?

search on stereo + Bell

he put one in there - it gives superior st. balance rel. to the alt.

BTW - if it is a true sub, then there will be no ability to localize it by any human -- maybe an elephant or blue whale could...

humans do not have the ability to determine the direction a true sub-woofer is firing from

of course, the term "sub" often refers to an 8" driver or something similar - that is not a sub-woofer

Mines in the front.
The base from it there is fine, sounds good even at speed.
The car in front and all around you will hear it too, but then mine has a f/g hood
and can be like a mobile disco

I have one in the trunk. It actually is set up to where it vents in through the A/C ducts. I would say overall it is very good. Probably picks up 85% of what you're used to hearing from it being right behind you. Whatever you do, I hope you enjoy it. I have no problems hearing it when I want to. I, like the other guys, usually listen to the sounds of the 3.0.

I had a sub in the trunk and didn't like it. I even drilled about 6 or 7 3" holes to port it into the cab. I still wasn't that happy.
Kenwood makes a sub that fits under the front seat. I found that the sub under the seat is pretty good. It even has a control pod so you can adjust the bass as you drive, or depending on the type of music.
It's smaller, but it is in the cab.

When I purchased my car it had a custom box built into the trunk. It was built so that the woofer was upside down and fired into the smugglers box. The AC had been removed so that the bass ported through the AC vents as well. It sounded awesome but it was a custom built box with a Kicker Soloberic Woofer designed to work in a small cube box. I don't have any pictures as I ripped out the whole system, no need for a stereo when you have sweet music coming from the motor. Besides all the stereo crap weighed a ton.
