Santa Barbara run?
It's been awhile since Southern California Pelicans gathered for a Santa Barbara fun run. IIRC, the last time we even had a bit of wine tasting.
![]() As the weather starts getting nicer and nicer, is anyone up for a run in the next couple of months? Dan? Mike? Ingo? Care to "host" the event? Scott

I can't find any info on the IBR, where it starts, etc. Saw some pics from past runs and it looks good. But, a 1000 miles??? I'd go to the staging point, but I doubt if I could/would do that many miles.
Scott, keep your thought going, a half day run is all I need. ![]() |

For iron bottom info see the early S board. I'm pretty sure it's for 1974 and earlier cars only

1976 and earlier cars (hey SC's/ 3.2 Carreras look like early cars , right?)
Starts at the Rose Bowl 7 am this Thursday, the 10th. Already have about 20+ porsches joining the 100+ other makes this year. No fee, but bring $5 donation for the copy costs of the route maps. Winds its way from Rose Bowl, Angeles Crest, Upper big Tujunga, Angeles Forest, Palmdale bl- Lake elizabeth road, pine canyon, quail lake, gorman/ frazier park, pine mountain, drop down to taft for lunch, then further north 58- paso robles first night. Some guys come along thursday just for the run up to lunch, then go home. It is a real blast; lots of good people and cool cars no need to call ahead for joining the drive- just show up !

I'm not gonna pretend that a Carrera is <1976 no matter what my bumpers might portray. Still interested in the one day deal up near SB, but any other ideas are all welcome by me before it gets too hot.
One route I have not taken yet is up near Frazier Park and Pine Mountain. I wonder what the road up to Mt. Pinos is like. All along there looks very interesting with some side roads on Google Maps. I think this all comes towards SB or Ventura, depending on the fork you take. |

I agree with Milt. If we're going to do a fun run to Santa Barbara, it would be more fun if we did it while the weather is cooler. No air conditioning...Sounds really fun to run up there though.

Scott, Just caught this thread. I have been busy of late and not on the board. Would be great to do another SB Run. My schedule is a little hectic at the moment but I will check into when I might be able to put together a drive. I will post to this thread with some dates in the near future and see what works for everyone interested.
A/C is not needed her in SB, at least if you have a targa. ![]()

Sounds like a great idea. Maybe even add a little Santa Barbara County canyon run after lunch!
