I did it. The difference, really, is not dramatic enough to have bothered with it IMHO.

I did this a few months ago and like them a lot. Like you say the dimmer option doesn't work however the light is much nicer, a light blue light rather than a dim yellow. They are a direct replacement for the bulbs, only a 30 min job really

Not worth it unless you do a serious, high-bucks full mod. I have LED bulbs in my gauges, and they cast a dim, moderately cool-looking blue light. They're definitely not too bright. Too dim, if anything.

Tried it a few months back.
Not worth it, IMHO. The led-based illumination was actually dimmer than the new stock bulbs, so I switch them back. FYI, cleaning the inside of the gauge faces (not a trivial job, but it can be done with patience, care & the right tools) made a big difference in gauge brightness. Not any brighter than stock (w/ new bulbs), just a different shade of white.
Not adjustable. Not even close to worth it, IMHO, unless you're into bling junk. |

![]() ![]() I did the LEDs and I think that they made my gauges 10 times easier to see, period. They are still dimmer than any modern car, but they were unreadable before I swapped bulbs. I also put colored LEDs in for the blue, green, red and amber indicators and they are all much better now too.

![]() ![]() Was thinking mostly about a previous car I had; the PO had put blue LED's in the gauges. Matched the bling aftermarket radio. Gauges were almost unreadable at night. But, new stock bulbs in the gauges are brighter than the white LED's, and are adjustable. |
