1. Loosen/disconnect the clutch cable under the back of the car, this will give you the room you need to get at the cable clevis pin at the pedals.
2. The long bar goes up to the booster (not used in '76) located in the trunk. Just disconnect it...

Ok now Im trying to figure out how to release the bar in the trunk area.
Is this actually running inside the base of the booster? I can see a clip on the outside of the booster at the base with a rod running through it.... If I release this will that release the rod? Thanks again guys |

there should be a locking clip on the rod going to the master cylinder that keeps the push rod connected to the pedal, after you get the clip off push out the pin.

Yes, I just did this. Undo the 17mm bolt....that's the stablizer rod. The clip and pin is the rod to brake pedal....a real joy to re attach....I went from the bottom while I held it in place with a screwdriver through the front of the booster base.

Good luck, it is really easy. make sure you have a new clutch cable clip, you might have to get jiggy with the one that is in there now. I did. I also had to replace the shaft for the clutch pedal to cable arm piece. here are some pictures.
Clutch adjustment problem found and repaired

LOL...That's exactly what mine looked like.
The clutch cable was almost ready to snap as well. I just finished this tonight; looking forward to the road test. ![]() ![]()

Spray it with PB Blaster. Let it sit while you go to Lowes and get a set of roll pin punches. They are light blue. I bashed mine out and reused it!
