^ Thanks Hcoles. Was this our Back Up Light Switch 914 613 541 02? Just submitted a report to Engineering to have them check the switch open/close stand-off dimension, exactly as you did. Great work, BTW!
Did you also use Activating Pin 901 303 017 02 (29.3mm, for manual transmissions), and Back Up Light Switch Boot 914 613 491 00?

I used the pin that was there. I'm pretty sure it is the pin that came with the car.

Hi URO - the holes for the bullet pins on the wiring harness on your backup light switch are way too large, the bullet pins will not stay seated. I tried them in my old Porsche OEM switch that came out of the transmission and they were a nice tight friction fit.
Now I'm stuck with the transmission in the car and filled with fluid and a reverse light switch that is out of spec... and the wires wont stay connected. Bill Quote:

Hi Bill, would you happen to have the Sportomatic transmission, or manual?
We sell about a thousand of these annually and haven't had anyone mention any connector issues - we'll check it out immediately.

Thanks! My transmission is manual. That is the part number that I ordered (for a 1976 Mag case 915 transmission).
