Weber float bowl vent filter
Does anyone have a source for part #76 in this Weber exploded view. I was going to run my 40IDA carbs with the 911R style rain shields, without the tall vent stack. It appears that the tall vent stack leads directly to the fuel in the float bowl, so some type of filter would be necessary. Anybody out there running the rain shields with or without the vent stack?
Thanks, Matt ![]() |

I don't know what the 911R style water shields look like. I have the 'standard' water shields where the air filter takes care of all the air going in.
Nothing leads directly IN to the float bowls except for fuel from the fuel pump circuit. The rest goes OUT from the float bowls (accelerator, main, etc). If you don't have a filter for the stacks, I don't see a reason for having a filter for the air vents, which is what #76 is protecting, other than that they can get clogged more easily I guess. Someone that uses the water shields you're talking about will probably have more info on this. To find the part try contacting Larry on http://youroil.net. They sell PMO parts that work on the IDA's as well.
