Good 1st Porsche 911 for a 16 year old?

Well I am pretty sure this is NOT it.

I wish I could afford this sweet ride.

I was thinking about logging on as a newbie and asking if I should buy this for my imaginary 16 year old kid to drive to high school.

haha - "never tracked or abused"

when I saw the title of the post, I thought for sure you were going to get laid into about the perils of this car in young hands. Nicely played.

Oh, I don't know, if your son's name is "Michael Schumacher II" it might be OK...

i'm only 18... parents helped me pick out my 80 SC after i almost aced my USMC PFT (287/300) and got ranked 4th out of 55 in the region(idaho to the other side of NE) for the USMC NROTC scholarship. it cost $13,200 - upgraded chain tensioners, pop off valve, new clutch. Things i've done/had done - $320 repaint rear right quarter - nickle sized paint chip. $180 new rebuilt starter. - just ordered a new o2 sensor and a shift fork gasket - and swepco 201 = $120 or osmething. not much needed to do to it and its interior is in excellent condition - i need to get a digital camera and post some pics

i got one speeding ticket -10mph over - and took diversion course to get rid of it - - - learned my lesson not speeding in it anymore for 2 reasons -- insurance would go up.... and my parents threaten to sell it. haha

It looks like the perfect first car from a safety standpoint: roll cage and harnesses. As long as they don't take it off a bridge they'll survive long enough for you to ground them.
