Power increase with cat bypass?
I have a stock 3.2, except for a K&N cone filter and an Autothority chip. What power increase, if any, would I achieve by installing a cat bypass? What other advantages and disadvantages (ignoring smog testing, which is not relevant at the moment) would I see?

It depends on the condition of your CAT. Replacing a clogged CAT w/ anything should yield a power increase, if it's original even a new CAT won't hurt. Other than that it might sound better which will make it feel more powerful.

Is your Autothority chip burned to work with a catbypass...?

I wouldn't be able to state any info on a HP increase but I noticed that the power band changed when the Cat was replaced with a bypass on my 80 SC. It seemed that the low end response had improved.
Hope that helps. |
