71E resto progress..powder coating is good.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Picked up a batch of parts that I had powder coated. (Skagit Powder Coating....this is in mount Vernon, WA....info for the PNW locals) The engine for my 71E moves forward......next week i get all my hardware back from the platers (yellow zinc plating) and the engine will be complete and the re-assembly moves forward. Front suspension, gas tank, brakes are next.

i see you pc'd the a arms.
what bushings are you going with?
i'm torn between a quick strip and rattle can respray, keeping my old bushings vs powdercoat and replacement.
curious as to your thoughts.

Tony,
Yes...i'm happy with the results. Andy and co. did a nice job and the cost was reasonable.

James,
Thank you.

Bob,
I struggled with that one. I have heard the pro's and con's regarding most of the other bushings. I though that my stock, rubber bushings were in decent shape and could probably have been retained. I finally decided that freshening them up was the right decision and in keeping with the rest of the resto work that I'm doing on this car. I have Neatrix bushings on my 77S spring plates and trailing arms and have not heard one squeek out of them, after two years of use. I think that I will go that route, or equivalent, with these A-arms. I will probably add grease fitttings to them, as well.

P.S....while i thought that my rubber bushings were ok, once I got them off they looked pretty worn.
