Welcome!
1. I'm no expert on 76 911's, but I believe there is no booster. Check under the front bonnet to confirm. 2. "Suspension work" is the best thing you can do to your car IMO. Yes, you can do it your self with the probable exception of an alignment and corner balance. 3. I would forget adding more HP unless you have a lot of money. Make your car lighter if you want to go faster. Make sure it is in proper tune and it should be plenty fast for the street or track. 4. It is up to your personal taste. Lowering really has a huge visual impact on 911's. Perhaps wider Fuchs wheels. Maybe a ducktail. Factory Sport seats are really nice... It is up to you and your wallet. Good luck. Mike |

.Your questions: 1. No, it doesn't. Not sure how to add one, but some one who knows can advise. 2. Use the "search" button near the top right of the page. Many threads on how to adjust suspension. The front is easy, rear a bit more complex. It can be done by yourself if you are willing to take your time, have the place to work, and have the tools. 3. again, check the "search" function. Lots of threads. 4. Posting a picture will help greatly in answering this last question. We need to know what the car looks like now. Be ready for hundreds of different opinions! It might be good to spend some time just reading this board, searching topics, and reading results. Also, invest in some good books (Wayne's 101 projects, a Haynes manual) to get familiar with your new car. Hope this helped. Welcome again, and expect lots of replies.

The best way to make your car go faster and handle better is to take your Porsche to your local sports car clubs High Performance Drivers Education!!!

Baruch Mor, I have been to Israel 6 times, but didn't go this summer. I opted for Egypt and Greek Islands this time. Going to the top of Masada and overlooking the Dead Sea is my favorite.
I have a 1976 911 Targa. When I first got it had the same engine as yours. Let me warn you about that engine.....but not the end of the world. Chances are it has the original 2.7L CIS injected motor. These engines had problems because of smog equipment additions. Now I don't know if that's the case if you are in Israel. The problems with this engine were the head stud pulling from overheating of the case by what are called "Thermal Reactors" ..... like catylitic converters on California cars and other smog US states. If the engine has over 50-70,000 miles on the original engine, I would pull it out of the car right now and have it rebuilt with some specific changes. Add steel inserts (coarse threads) for the 24 head studs. The existing head studs will pull from you engine making an exhaust sound that has nothing to do with the exhaust. It's escaping air you are hearing because the studs are pulling away from the engine & so the heads are loosing away from the engine as well. Secondly, toss the thermal reactors if you are not required to have them on your car. Thirdly, add an external oil cooling with the cooler in the front wheel weld. Also, to save your engine's big black air box by placing a "pop off" valve inside it (about $60.) so backfires don't destroy it. It looks like a little black toilet seat about the size of a 2" cookie. You should do this now before the engine gets in worse shape and your kicking yourself having to spend more. If you live here near Palm Springs I could rebuild it for you or help you do it yourself. Chances are, and I hope not, you may have gotten the car at a good price if the seller already knew this was happening to the engine. It's just something you wouldn't know unless you knew Porsches, but it's a good engine and will run for a long time with these fixes. Look and see if the oil return tubes are one solid long piece or if they have a midway seam that appears telescopic...one half goes into the other. I'm trying to say all this is "general" terms so you'll understand easier. If you have questions, feel free to ask. On the other hand do what I did. I put a 3.0L engine in my car and has more power and more dependability. Worth the extra money, and not that much more, really. Shalom my friend, JOSH (no, I'm not jewish) Are you from Tel Aviv? ![]() ![]()
