HID H4 conversion kit
Has anyone ever tried one of these kits? Seems to be the perfect answer for more light without increasing the current draw (only 35 watts)
HID Kit

What piques my interest is their statement "O-NEX HID burners (bulbs) were engineered to position the xenon arc-discharge in the place your filament used to be..." That is the problem with all HID conversions. The arc isn't the same shape as the filament in the lamps they replace, so the beam pattern isn't correct and it causes glare. If they have in fact corrected this problem, I know I would be very interested, especially since I noticed they have an H1 setup as well!

They want $230 for that? HID kits are running under $100 with the slimline ballasts. HIDs will fit as I have retrofit them in to my H4s. The light is very bright, but the Fresnel lens of the H4 does not work well with the HID bulbs. There is no cutoff as projector lenses do. Instead the light scatters in this pattern __/ __/.

I installed new bosch original headlamps fitted with a HID conversion recently and they are great . Its a dramatic improvement over the H4 lamps no matter what type I had tried. The HID lamps have made my Porsche driving lamps fitted in the front valance panel invisible they light up from just in front of the vehicle out the side and way down the road. I have had no problem with blinding on coming traffic and find them a great conversion

Actually, they are aimed so they do not blind oncoming cars. They are good, but you lose your ability to have high beams unless you get the ones with the moveable shade. I prefer the halogens these days.
