Sound pad is out. How do you remove the glue?

I was thinking of using a heat gun to melt the glue off but I don't know about breathing the smoke from it.
I was also thinking of using one of those wire brushes that you put on a power drill.
Or some kind of chemical.
Any other suggestions.

Thank you
Barclay

I used a product called "Goof Off" and a lot of elbow grease.

This is where the "love this car" comes into play, just roll up your sleeves and get in there!! BTW l removed mine and put that stereo soundproofing on the inside, lighter and sounds great. Paint the engine firewall and your done, should take about an hour...

Barclay,
Just removed all the carpet glue for my RS carpet install. I used a sealer and adhesive remover from Ace Hardware calle Jasco (sealer and adhesive remover).
Wear rubber gloves. spread remover on the surface with a throw away paint brush (Home Depot 12 for $2.00) wait 5 - 15 min. scrape off with a plastic scraper. ( do not leave the remover on for more than a few min. as it will soften the painted surface) IF YOU GET ANY REMOVER ON PAINTED SURFACES YOU DONT HAVE GLUE ON SIMPLY WIPE THE REMOVER OFF WITH FINAL KLEAN RIGHT AWAY.Put the remover in a wide mouth glass jar and just keep the brush in it as you work. Tear the ears off a few cardboard boxes and use them to wipe the scraper off with, and buy a sleeve of rags for final cleaning. Any stubborn spots just add more remover and hit them with steel wool. Keep a garbage bag close to throw the cardboard and rags in as you go. Buy a gallon of Final Klean or some other type auto surface cleaner and wipe the excess off as you go. I did the entire interior including the headliner surfaces in less than an afternoon.

I used a wire brush on an electric drill. The glue came off with zero effort. I was re-painting my engine bay so I wasn't concerned about the paint coming off.

"Goo Gone" is the 3m product I use. At least I think that's what it's called.
