I'm currently on the final phase of a complete rebuild of a 74' 911S, and as part of that I would like to repaint it in Lime Green.
Now, I know this was a standard colour for the 74 model year and is usually described in german as "Gelbgrun". In several books I've checked (Peter Morgan, etc) the code for this colour is represented as 137, however my bodyshop couldn't find anything with that code. Also I suspect from other sources that the factory used more complex alphanumeric codes... Can anyone point me to the "factory" code for Lime Green (Model Year 1974) ? Thanks |

the factory workshop manuals list 137 as Yellow Green, a standard color for 74. Red Book lists 137 as Lime Green.

Yes, I know that in most books that colour is listed as 137, but for instance, my car's original colour (Gemini Blue Metallic) is reported by the factory as X3V9 !
I suppose there must be a code like this for Lime Green... |

My car was Gelb Green, 137, see below.
![]() Lime green is much more fluorescent. I *THINK* its code 226, but I'm not sure. I can check on Monday if someone hasn't answered you by then.

My code on our '74 is 137-92.
Thankfully the PO painted it white.

After looking at your photos, regardless of name, 137 is really the colour that I'm aiming for.

I was able to look up both 226 and 137 in my color chips. I think the 137 is the color you want. 226 is less bright, not as snappy as the Carrera shown. Both have the English translation of lime green, but they are far apart in shade; it amounts to a bad translation. Another form of the code for 137 is N8 as in N8V9 or N8N8.

That's this kind of code that I was looking for. But should it be N8V9 or N8N8 ?

N8N8 is the coupe, N8V9 is for the targa. V9 stands for the black roof on a targa. N8 is the code for the paint

All I know is this:, 137 looks EXACTLY like a green m&m, the other one looks like greenish yellow a/c dye!
