DC Automotive Visit... They Got Parts!

So I was visiting a friend of mine in NC a few weeks ago and we decided it would be worth it to take a ride over to DC Automotive so I could check-out their incredibly large indoor salvage facility. Now I had met Rob (the owner) on several occasions between the Hershey swap meet, and the Potomac swap we used to host here in the MD/DC/VA area, but had never made it down to his facility in NC.

My initial impression was WOW! The pictures in their add do not due this place justice. There are rows of cars, rows of parts, a couple of different repair/rebuild areas, areas specifically for dismantling, and areas specifically for whole/usable parts. I’ve been to a lot of salvage yards one but this was unique in that its vast, and it’s all indoors. Rob sits high-up in his office/watch tower over the floor buying more cars from around the country, checking on orders being shipped and on & on.

Good bunch. Robert took good care of me. I was dire in need of a 3.0 motor and I got a sweet 83 Euro. Crated it up nice and shipped it to the left coast for me.

I've delt with DC Automotive when I did my engine rebuild about 10 or so years ago - Rob is a geat guy and is very helpful - can't say enough about that place.

And the prices are very reasonable.

I live near Raleigh and make a point to run over there at least a couple times a year. What I really like is that I can just wander through the place and shop for things I didn't know I needed rather than just ask for a specific item at a parts counter. They have a great selection of parts and the fact that the people there are nice and helpful is a welcome bonus.

Couple of small items and some H4 headlights....

Phoned a buddy and told him he needed this Carrera GT motor for his street rod project!!

Having tried the used P car places in the greater LA area without success, DC is frequently worth the extra day of UPS. It is all about the people & the relationships. Just business, not BS.

Like everyone else, also have had positive experiences. Trailering home a 356 from Baltimore to Florida in a couple weeks. Need to make a stop and visit.

Sunroof cables for my 73 are NLA from PCNA and all secondary sources, but not from DCA. I would hit them up for NLA parts again in a heartbeat.
