Blank Canvas, looking for Inspiration

So I'm getting a 81 911 SC RoW, and I'm looking for Ideas of what I could do with it. I'm entertaining the idea of a 74 RSR, warmed up engine with webbers, SSI's, JE pistons, S cams, and MK muffler. Possibly Lindsey Wheels if I go with RSR. ITs a RoW, but I would still like to put it on a diet, minimalized interior, and lightweight Seats. Just looking for inspiration of what my blank SC can be. I might even take a poll that might help me with a final decision. Thanks Everyone

RSR (13 or 15" rear vented flares, 11" front vented fenders) is expensive as wide rims, big tires, big bodywork with lots of time invested to get it right

Iroc RSR is in between with flare costs front/rear, rims, not so huge tires. Go metal flares front and rear if its in the budget.

74 RS / Iroc inspired is next down the ladder , deleting your bumpers and install fiberglass. Choose a tail , or not , Ruf style or Iroc, or more aggressive on the bumpers

Backdate to a long hood style- 73 RSR or RS- pricing depends on level of quality and parts chosen

Backdate to 911 ST inspired- leave flares as is or go with 9" front and rear

Backdate to 911R style- louvered windows, R lamps f/r, no tail, minilites or fuchs

decisions decisions
work out your total expected budget and what you/friends will accomplish on parts of it. Then that would help your decision on what path to follow

good luck

Don't go wide unless you have the power to match. IMHO go backdated RS look.

I like this one the most out of the ones you pictured. This is the Iroc correct?

I think it looks too nice to cut up, my vote is the ClubSport look with performance enhancements. CIS is reliable and forgiving. Gee I wish I had my SC back.

Good Luck there are so many options!! Your own touch will inevitably show through but make a decision on the style you like before you start as it will spiral out of control both time and money wise.

I Love this and it will be the inspiration for number two when number one is done!

Rally. Lift it, mud flaps, ton of lights on a push bar. Yee Haw!

Or Iroc/RS inspired. But I am biased.

I got a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon for the rallying and off roading. Im considering the IROC or RSR at this moment. If I backdate thats more that I have to replace.

My 2 cents,
an '81 RoW SC has one of the best 3.0liter engine Porsche ever used, the 930/10 specs; 204hp@5900 189ft-lbs@4300 and depending on options pretty light for an SC

You need to drive it to 1)see if it's up to spec 2) see how you like whats' there 3) see how you want to change it for your use.

I don't like the idea of changing from a n/b to a w/b it's never done right because it is extremely expensive to do so. If you want a w/b you really need to start w/ one.

I also don't like the idea of backdating across the '73/'74 MY change, it's more reasonable than the n/b to w/b change but it's still not right.

You have a very nice mid year w/ RS/Carrera flares, chose an icon from that period. You have several choices some shown above.
1) SC/CS
2) Ruf
3) n/b IROC
4) n/b SC/RS

Beef up the motor and go mental with the RSR look with a PMO'd 3.0 or 3.6.

I go with Bill V. on this. But, do change the wheels! That car would be a great candidate for my bumpers (which are not available at this time, sorry).

I'm liking the following examples.

RSR with beefed up 3.0 930/10 with PMOs was my original thought.

Very clean, sleak but still yells out "Lets Race". Is this a stock SC body without mods other than bumpers and duck tail?

Same about this one.
