Please define Early, I am running 205 55 16 on 16 x 6 wheels on a 66, had to roll the lip a bit. I hope I can put 225 50 16 on a 16 x 7 on my 71, should know in a couple weeks when it is back together.

Regards

I'm running 215/60R Michelin's on my 68 coupe with 15x6 Fuchs. No rubbing. Haven't had to roll-up the metal either. Steering at parking-lot speeds is difficult due to the large footprint. Very stable at freeway (+) speeds.

Or some Michelin XWX (XVR) 185/70-15s, which would make it even purtier. Here's my lowered, unflared, unrolled-fendered '65 912 with 205/55-15s on sevens (they said it couldn't be done):

ERN:

BF Goodrich G-Force Sport, bought a year or so ago from Tire Rack for about $75-80 each. They aren't the trickest autocross tire around (those cost double and last for half the miles), but they are fine for fun street use. As a bonus, they lower your overall gearing nicely.
