wipers only park in cold weather
My wipers don't park and the interval doesn't work.
I have not figured out my wiper problems, have researched all the wipers don't park posts. I took the wiper switch/lever apart, but no luck there on the contact repair/bending. My next "suspects" are the wiper relay behind the instruments and the motor itself. I think I have read the park mechanism is actually inside the motor?? We have had a couple of nights now with temperatures close to freezing. I had to use my wipers on one of those mornings and to my big surprise both interval and parking worked without any problems! Then later in the afternoon as it had warmed up I was back to no interval and no parking. Does this make sense to anybody? Could it be a clue as to what is not working? I confirmed it on a second day, same thing if overnight temps are around 32 wipers park, as it warms up I loose park function and interval.... Very strange...

i doubt the intermittent switch, it turns wipers on and off as I switch it, when it is warm the interval doesn't work and wipers don't park, in cold weather around freezing the interval and the parking work.
Essentially when the interval doesn't work it is just that the parking doesn't work, if that makes any sense, in my mind interval just means the wipers have to park repeatedly.... I wonder if I should try the intermittent relay? Or do you guys think it is the motor?

I believe it'll be a dirty intermittent switch. I think if you clean up the switch with some electrical contact spray, your problem will be solved.
I once had a "parking" problem that would come and go. I wound up repairing the washer stalk, which solved my problem. Try cleaning your switch first.

I had the same problem - wipers would not park and the intermittent switch did not work. The problem turned out to be a dirty internal wiper motor disk for the parking mechanism. I had to remove the wiper motor, disassemble and clean.
I have a 1975 911s, and this is how the wipers work: The wiper switch consists of terminals # 53a, 53, 53b, 53i, 53e, and 53c. During wiper park cycle, 53e (blue wire) is connected to 53a (red/white wire, +12 v all the time). The connection is made when the wiper switch is off and the motor is not in the park position. The motor makes connection between 53e and 53a with an internal disk. The wiper switch connection between 53e and 53 puts the wipers into the slow mode, until the disk inside the motor turns to the park or off position. 53a Red/white = +12 v all the time 53a Black with noise reducing capacitor to Red/white = +12 v all the time 53 Black/red (violet?) = slow speed wipers 53b black/yellow = medium speed wipers 53i green = fast speed wipers 53e blue = park at slow speed 53c black = washer pump motor

what is the internal wiper motor disk? how does it get dirty? I wonder if that could be my root cause?

I'll post this here as well in case anyone wants to use the diagram to explain the problem being described. I can't figure it out on my '84T either. But I will!
