Paint code location

Hello all. Since recently reading a post here about touch up painting, I have been trying to locate the sticker in the car that tells me the paint to order. I have an 1985 911 Coupe. Please tell me where to look for the info on my car. Thanks for the help!

Greg

Thanks Christien. I read online about this location yesterday and find nothing there! I am hoping for a second secret spot perhaps that my still be present.

AFAIK, that's the only location of the paint code, short of ordering a kardex. It can be hard to see sometimes if the car's been repainted. A previous owner of my car did a cheapo paint job, and they painted over the paint code plate - it's a bit hard to see in my car. Maybe take a shop light and some light sandpaper and have a really close look?

There is a label under the bonnet with all details on it, photo of mine attached; the paint colour/ interior colour is L36P/DB as the lines dont match precisely

I'm not sure when the transition took place from the door pillar to the underside of the hood, but I'm thinking it happened when they went to the short hood in 74.
For the 85, it is, as stated, under the trunk lid up front, along with a bunch of other codes for your options. Those will need to be decoded for you as well. If you have the original owners manual, there is a duplicate sticker there as well.
