Post 930 Tranny Rebuild Problems

I recently replaced the synchros on my 930 transmission, did not mess with the shift forks and now it won't stay in first or second gear. Any ideas on what I did wrong before I yank it out again? I rebuilt the transmission b/c it would grind all the time going to second gear and also I couldn't get it in reverse after having to force it into 1st at a traffic light(still a problem). Any help appreciated.
Pat

In short, No. I didn't think that I needed to do that since I didn't loosen them, but it makes sense that I should of had it checked.

the reverse levers on a 930 tranny have a tendency to bend or brake....as far as the popping out of gear...the tranny needs to come out...make sure you reinstalled the syncros/brake bands correctly....check for a bent shift rod/fork (these should have been loosened and disassembled not the way you did it). if all else fails bring it to a shop qualified to do this rebuild with the correct tools (although you dont need the alignment jig as said above it is highly recommended if your not familiar with these) hope all works out well...good luck

Thanks 175, that's exactly what my local mechanic says. Out it comes. Maybe one day I can spend some time in the drivers seat instead of under it. Lesson learned.
