Hey all, tried a few different searches, and could not come up with any posts with the problem that I am having...
Left the house about an hour ago to get the Pcar a bath. Stayed in 1st until I got to the main road to warm up the engine. As I pulled out, and tried to hit 2nd, nothing... 3rd... Nothing... Would not shift from 1st to any gear while the car was in motion. Pulled to the side of the road, and was able to shift back to 1st. Again, after pulling away, no other gears. Made it back home in 1st, and with the car in the driveway, I tried each gear individually, and each gear engaged. ![]() I am waiting for a friend to head this way with the 17mm Hex to check my trans fluid, but after only having the car for a month, I am not very familiar with what other issues I may be looking at here. Any help or suggestions would be Greatly Appreciated!!

possible clutch problem. does the shift lever feel the same as it did before you had this problem?
the clutch will move the car in lower gears just before it's toast. do you notice a smell like burning rubber? if so, that is the clutch slipping.

Yeah, shift lever feels the same as before. Just drove it last night without any issues. Couldn't smell burning clutch yesterday or today. While I have the car stationary, I can move it with each gear all the way to 5th, & rev is no problem... Would that be normal if the clutch was going bad?

strange problem, if you can nudge the car in each gear the clutch is most likely ok.
one way to test your clutch is to drive about 35 mph in 4th gear. step on gas then push in the clutch in and release it quickly. the engine will race up if the clutch is bad.

Motor and/or tranny mounts could of failed. The motor will move while under load, there by causing the shift linkage to be out of whack. That could explain why it works sitting still, not mot when moving. Something to check.

I'll check the clutch & see how it does. I know there are a few different ways to see if it is okay. I will also take a look @ the Motor/Tranny mounts. Seem logical. Really hope it's something along those lines. Not having a garage, it would be a bad time for a clutch!

Kevin,
We were just down by Whitmore lake this afternoon. We took a ride with the kids and ended up in Ann Arbor. man, I could have stopped by and helped you out. I can PM my phone number if you get stuck on a diagnosis. Let me know. ![]() EDIT: Oops , I see you are in White Lake. not familiar with the location.

With any luck I will have some time to figure out the issue tomorrow. Working on inventory on my van, and I'm gone all next week for work. Would really like to get the problem pinpointed before I leave. At least I'll know what I'm up against.
