Had my 1980 SC out for a ten minute run after renewing the rear brake shoes and rebuilding the calipers. Returned home and happened to touch the rear bumper. It was VERY hot. I can't remember touching it before so dont know if this is normal!!???

Just got in from a brisk trial after new plug wires, cap and rotor. Can't hold my hand on rear bumper. I agree with Nick, the plug wires make a huge performance difference. I think mine were probably 17 yrs old.

Yes, its normal for the bumper to be hot. All of the heat from the muffler is trapped there, turbos are worse. Thats why Ruf put vents there.

Couldn't help but notice the "Burnt Hills" license plate frame. Man, I knew bumpers could get hot, but....

I wish I coud find a pic of the back of that car, I was particularly proud of the 4 tip ANSA exhaust. Unfortunately the center oulets and ducktail were not a happy pair. All of the exhaust by prducts coated the area behind the ducktail. Live and learn
