Winterizing a 911 ?

Hello!

I was chatting with a guy who has a couple of muscle cars stored and he says he Fills his tank and adds seafoam during the winter. He says this protects from condensation. My tank is completely empty, should I do the same?? Would seafoam damage aircooled? (stupid question, I know but had to ask)

He also says that you should keep a fan running in the garage. Peoples insight is welcome!! Thanks

Baker.

use a winter stabilizer for the gas, run it a good 20 miles and park it, ofcourse fill the tank with hi octane and follow the directions as to the ratio, and you'll be good. I have only started doing this for the last year ot 2, prior to that never had a problem, getting older now, both the car and myself so I figured it's a good idea. Seafoam as a winter addative never made good sense to me persoanally, I was worried about what it may remove after sitting 4 months or so, but that is just my take on it. Good luck

Thank you, though one confusing thing. HIGH OCTANE? I was told that with the classics it is best to fill with low octane? considering there was no such thing in the 70's? I have a 3.0 Thanks!

winterizing of your car

fill the tank with any oct. fuel add your stabilizer, running it is a good idea this makes sure all untreated fuel is run out and mixed. but thats what a return lie is for.

clean the battery area good and leave the front trunk popped up a bit to let out moister.

in flat your tires to the max recommended as this will help a bit from flat spotting even though they say radials dont they do.

i remove the floor mats and store them away from the car to keep any moister that may have been in them out of the interior.

wax the car before you cover and "WAIT"

cheers ed

Don't know about the high/low octane, but if at all possible, I stay away from ethanol and absolutely avoid it for storage!

Sunoco 94 was very big in the '70's on the other hand I agree with ethenol being problematic but up here in the northeast it is almost impossible to avoid.
