Transmission type and number of chip pins

Hi , new poster , new owner, this site is great unbelievable amount of info out there.
Got a question on the transmission in my 1987 930, I thought it was the G50 but now I'm not so sure, its the 4 sp.
Am planning on putting a chip in the car but this is a transition year for the number of pins that the chips have , is there a way to tell from the production date or better from the serial number if its a 28 pin chip or not. Does the turbo model all have the 28 pin or do I have to take it out. Reason I'm asking is the car is in Vancouver Canada and I work in Guyana and I wanted to order the chip and put it in when I'm home on break.
The 930 is beautiful , 58,000 miles and quick as a bullet.

The tranny is (I believe) 930/34. They didn't go to a five speed in the 930 until 1989. I didn't think you could chip a 930. It is CIS, not Motronic. I may be wrong about the chipping though.

I'll add to what Mark said:
Transmission is a 930.36 (close Mark!)
Only the 1989 930 had a 5 speed G50 transmission (G50/50).
There is no chip or DME for you car.
Believe it or not, the 911 Turbo didn't get electronic fuel injection (Motronic) until the 993 twin turbo (1996?)!

LOL, I wasn't sure if the 930/34 went through that year or was only the earlier ones like mine.
