Aww, come on John. I want to see the car. From the title, it sounds like it would be a beast...but a beautiful one at that.

Yes. Email me the picture if it doesn't work, and I'll post it. 73 is the 911's best year!

John, when you post your message, there is now a link to add picture to your post. Click this link, it will open a small window asking where your picture is located (on your hard drive). Click browse, and navigate to your pic, then click upload (your computer will send the picture to pelican's server). The small window should now indicate a link (which you will copy and paste into your message). That link indicates your picture. Now submit your repy or post and voila!

Speaking of 1973 Porsches, I've noticed that some online posters have mentioned having a 1973 1/2. Is there some difference in the cars that occurred late in the run that allegedly makes those cars better?

The distinction is that 73 1/2 "T" models had CIS fuel injection as opposed to mechanical fuel injection.

John, the picture-posting feature lets you upload the pic from your computer to the Pelican server first. Once that is done, it does NOT automatically add the pic to your post! That is what the little piece of code is for that you need to "copy and paste" into the desired place in your post. It should start with IMG followed by the address of the file on Wayne's server.

I'd be glad to post it and explain further if you wish to email the pic to me: campbell.chris@gte.net

John,

Take a look at the last few posts on this page ... for an idea what to paste into your posts.

when you say copy/paste, what is that? i mean i'm really not a computer guy. what about the little green code? what do i do? click on it? do you type the img stuff into your post, or does it appear somehow? there is no step by step info. maybe it should be posted for idiots like me.

What happened to all the 71s? I noticed this at the R Gruppe thing. Lots of 72s (I guess the oil lid makes them stand out), as well as 70s and 73s. But not very many 71 models.

What gives?

well better small than nothing. thanks for the help. next question. how to get it 50K, which i assume is bigger. does it have something to do with pixels? i scan the pic, size it down to 25% to get under 50K, send it to photo deluxe, change it to GIF, and put it in C drive. wazzup?

At Cambria, Jack...wasn't that beautiful black baby owned by Freeman Thomas a '71? If I'm right, that one car made up for several! Black/black, it ran the Cali historical plates. Remember? It had the '72 & '73 front spoiler, a common change back then...but still believe it was a 2.2, so either '70 or '71...

John -- when you save your file as a .gif or a .jpg, it compresses the file. You don't have to have it below 50K before you save it.
Try reducing to 50% and then saving it as a .jpg and see how big it ends up being. The picture you posted is only 11K after compression.

Wow, I'm telling John how to do something! That's a switch.
