paint color/ code
missing the paint code inside the boot on this 1980 Targa and it has been painted in a few places at least. color doesnt appear to have been changed. anywhere else to find the original color or anyone know the name of this color? i call it charcoal gray metallic, but it appears no similar color was produced in 1980. thanks

Look inside the drivers door jam near the hinges and light switch. Should be a metal plate riveted there with the code.
Can't tell from your pick, but maybe 708 Metallic Black? My '81 is that color, but looks like dark gray metallic in the sun...or black in the shade.

Have you stopped by the Porsche Dealer in your area and reviewed their older Paint Chip books. They may have the color tucked away somewhere.
