Ball Joint pivot point?

I am trying to figure out where the center of the pivot is on a front ball joint.

Dose anyone have a picture of one without the rubber boot on it or a broken one?

Or, is it the center if the cross on this: http://www.elephantracing.com/images/balljoint/balljointcenterline.gif

It looks a bit hight to me.

Thank you if you can help.

Move the ball joint all the way to one side and take another picture. Then draw a new line down the center of the pin axis. Lay this drawing over your origional. Where the two pin axis lines intersect is the ball center. Hope this helps. paul.
