What engine case is this?
I recently purchased a 1968 911 which was said to have a 2 litre engine. Since driving it i can't believe it's 2l, but what do i know? The cas # is 901.101.101.2R Thank you all in advance for your time.

Hi,
Welcome to the best Porsche BBS on the planet. The number you posted is a casting number, what we need is the serial number and engine type number that is stamped on the right hand side of the blower casing. Grady Clay posted this to help locate the nubmers: ![]() The location of the red outline is the engine number. The engine type number is stamped in the case vertically (green arrow). The transmission numbers were originally stamped on the bottom rib at the clutch cable. As that is the lowest point on the casting, it isn’t unusual for the numbers to be scraped.

Thanks for the input. At the moment the car is at S Car Go in the bay area, so i can't get anymore #'s off it. However i have placed a call to the shop and they should have a conclusive answer for me. I was just itching to fiqure it out asap, i am sure everyone reading is fimiliar with that. Cheers
