Can't get front torsion bars out, cross post from turbo board
***I am posting here too for more exposure***
Can't get front torsion bars out They are stuck, both of them. Shouldn't they slide pretty easily? I have the a-arms out so I can put my polybronze bushings on and they won't budge. Any ideas? Also, I have two different a-arms. Someone replaced the pass side and it doesn't match the driver side. The driver side has thick spacers welded to the front mount. Is there a difference between the turbo a-arm and the 911 a-arm? This one is original I suspect. ![]() Not original: ![]() ![]()

I also have a question about a-arms I bought as replacements because I thought I had a problem with the passenger side. I thought the SC and turbo a-arms were the same but not according to PET which might explain the thicker mount on the driver side a-arm.
Found this in PET on the Porsche website: 911 341 901 01 L SC 911 341 901 02 R SC 930 341 901 01 L Turbo 930 341 901 01 R Turbo

You can always pull the plug out of the end and drive the bars out.

The end of the tube in all your pictures is actually a plug that comes out. The easiest way is to drive the torsion bar in far enough to knock it out.
