Gearbox (915) gasket sets
Fairly straightforward question. Does it make sense to replace all gaskets on a 915 when installing a new clutch set? Tx

If your gearbox is leak free there's no reason to do this.
If however you're a tinkerer like me you could open up your gearbox and check the internals. Then you would have to change the gaskets. (I'm joking) The 915 is a robust gearbox but it doesn't suffer fools. ![]() (I'm not implying you're a fool) |

Maybe the rear gasket and the little gasket on the plate, they are easy to do.
But if it's not leaking, why bother?

The only gaskets you should bother with on the transmission "while you're in there" are the radial seals for the shift rod and the input shaft (behind the release bearing guide tube). Also look at the crankshaft seal while you have the trans out. If none are leaking, leave them alone.

There is also a guide tube modification you might want to make.,Drill a hole in the bottom and make a silicone dam, in case the seal goes it will save your clutch.

Dogs can leak while they sleep.
