Don't Taz Me Dude!

I know I am going to be Flamed but is there a way to make our babies sound like a Carrera GT?

Please do not throw up too much you purists

Well, just got my ass handed to me by the Master.

Us flat 6's will never be a 10 cylinder so that was a fleeting momment.

But I was informed that maybe I could get close to a GT3 sound. Hell that aint bad. Now Cost?

You aren't going to make a 85 Carrera sound like any of those things. You could buy one of those though.

I had a system on my racecar that sounded somewhat like that. It ain't street legal and it will get old quickly on a streetcar. I think you won't get the pitch my car had as my race engine lives between 7000 and 8100 all the time.

The other thing is that a 991's exhaust note can be modified by changing the distance between the pipes out the back.

In any case, if interested, drop me a line.

Sounds more like an F1 car than a P-car.

Here's how we can do it:
Find me a Carrera GT and I'll do an audio recording on it. I'll burn it to a CD and then you can listen to it while you drive. You be surprised how intoxicating it is! I have the sounds of the start of the race from the movie LeMans on CD and played it during the TRE New Year's Day run.....it was like racing against 917s and 512s!

Now "that" is classic

Looks like we need to have a T.O. get together.

Siamese pipes joined at the center back do a lot for the sound. You really need equal length headers. You will hear several cars that will come close at the upcoming Festival of Speed in Fontana.

I recall an event at Jackie Cooper Porsche in Tulsa when they had a CGT on display for a big event. They fired that thing up and I was amazed at the sound. It did sound something like the F1 engines, although I've only heard them on television. It also was amazing how fast the revs could shoot up, it was almost instantaneous.

Wow. Just... Wow. That sound is inspiring.
Draco, I'm sure you've listened to all of the youtube videos of the 3.2 aftermarket exhausts.
Can you describe what you want yours to sounds like (other than the Carrera GT)?
There are so many different types and of the ones I've listened to I REALLY don't like the sound of any of them. The only one I do like is that white 3.2 Carrera with the Dynamax muffler.
Seen that vid? I think if you search youtube for "Carrera Dynamax" it'll take you right to it.

Its hard to differentiate but if you go to you-tube and search for "Juan at Daytona" you can sort of hear the exhaust I had. I'll try to find a sound clip; it was sick

I watched a CGT drive away at Rennsport Reunion III. Even though the guy was only going from 0 to about 25 mph, the sound was amazing.

Makes me think of the review the Seinfeld wrote for one of the mags (R&T?). He said something like, "Imagine a car that costs $400,000 & is worth it."

My next-door-neighbor had an MV Agusta F4 motorcycle. He paid $20,000+ for it. However, just listening to him ride away, the engine sound, made me think the bike was really worth $20k!

Just as nice as most Ferrari's.

I have yet to hear one in person.

I heard in an Enzo indoor warehouse once, awesome.
