Wevo or Harget 915 shifter
I am about to purchase a shifter for my 915 gearbox to be use on a '73 RSR clone that will be used 90% on the street. Does anyone have experience with both shifters and have a strong recommendation one way or the other?
Thanks for your help. Bob |

This has been asked to death. Have you searched for this yet? If not, I suggest you do. You'll find many opinions on both.

If you want to retain something of a stock look, go with the Wevo.

Don't forget the Rennline unit, which some find superior to both.

From what I have heard nothing beats the Harget as far as feel, but you have to do some pretty significant interior modifications, and it sticks out quite a bit.

Where do you find the Rennline unit? I've been on their site and I don't see it.

I have had both and liked both. Sorta like going to bed with a red head, blond of brunette. Each has unique features. Then there is the tall girl, short girl, thin girl, medium sized girl, fat girl. They are all designed for one application - shifting round, up and down.
Buy both - sell one. EPS

No wonder I couldn't find the Rennline one. So, slick, which one did you like and why?

In installed the WEVO along with WEVO's shift coupler and new bushings in my '86. A little expensive, however WELL worth the money in my opinion. Reverse is locked out when shifting from 5th to 4th, nice piece of mind. The WEVO unit is so good it makes the 915 box almost feel like a modern box! A Porsche mechanic drove my car once and questioned the year, he thought it was a G50 box.
It's the single best improvement I've done to my '86. Alan |

I use the wevo "classic" that looks completely stock.
I've never used others so can't compare.

Rennshift for my money. Renew coupler and all bushings at the same time.

Installing the WEVO took about 2 hours, if memory serves me correctly. Adjusting the coupler took the most time. It's a pretty straight forward and fun install, if you're in to that sort of thing. Adjusting the coupler wasn't too bad either, really.
