alternator help
With help from some of the members I have finally gotten the alternator.fan housing out of my 80 sc, I would like to separate the fan from the housing. I have put the nuts back on the housing that holds the wind diverter. With a rubber mallet, do I lightly tap on the alternator itself or the nuts that hold the housing to the alternator? Thanks

The help you need is in that thread, especially about keeping the nuts on the threads as you tap lightly.
Work your way around the alternator, or from side to side, tapping lightly. It will come. A small dowel or the like will allow you to tap various spots to keep it advancing out of there. Careful about debris in that case. Paul
