I sold one of the rear clips today to a fellow in Canada (met him at Hershey, he saw the green one), he's coming down on Monday to pick it up. Heh heh, Oops, I just PM'd you about seeing a pic of the 72 metal, all cut up. Looks like you're there. Quick question, how is the upper rear driver side of the package tray? There should be a hole there for the defrost wires to come up. That is a nasty area on my car, so I need that to be in good shape too.

Got your PM Dave, replied, send me your email and I'll send a ton of hi-res pics. I know that area well, this one is flawless IIRC while pulling the wiring out, but will double check and send pics so you can see.

Update 2
Today I was able to get back out on the project. I spent today pulling all the fuel lines and pump. Just getting anything flammable out of the way. I discovered that most of the fuel lines were starting to crack so, it was probably a good idea I decided to tackle this project now.
![]() I drained the tank of fuel also. I'll be replacing the fuel lines, but I just snipped them back to the tunnel and inserted some plugs for the time being. After, that I pulled the heater boxes. They came off with out much struggle and still had a good amount of their original red paint. I managed to save the cork gaskets in case I need to reuse them. Re-furbishing them will be a nice side project during the week. I just need to get some red VHT paint. Guess a run to Pep Boys is in order. I also pulled the rear window. Which went pretty smoothly especially when you consider that I've never removed a front or rear car window. But, I took my time with the utility knife and first gently removed the aluminum trim. Whoever put the window in last did a piss poor job. They really gouged the trim in the lower right and left corners. Then I went around and cut a bit deeper and then sliced off the rubber holding the window on the outside. I was able to lift it straight out. I moved it inside the house for safe keeping. ![]() NOTE! This is the rubber seal, not the aluminum trim....kinda looks like it could be aluminum, just wanted to clarify.... ![]() After that I broke out the wire wheel and went to down on the rusted areas. Most of the rear parcel shelf is surface rust. But there is a large perforation where the Defrost wires come through in the driver side back corner. ![]() There is also a steady line of perforations all along a seam where the top of the back transitions to the parcel shelf. Looks like it is going to be easiest to remove the whole panel. So, I started grinding away seam sealer in the engine bay where the panel is spot welded in. ![]() I hope to get out and start cutting spot welds during the week. Shaun, we may need to talk more about that rear parcel shelf you've got, if you still have it.
