G50 Speedometer Sensor mystery
The speedometer and odometer on my 87 911 are working intermittently since taking out of storage a few weeks ago. I determined that the speedo sender wasn't sending a signal so I purchased a replacement from the host. New sender is doing the same thing. While rechecking my installation I found that if I leave it out of the hole about a quarter of an inch it picks up the signal when spinning the wheels. I’m stumped. I searched the archives but see nothing similar to my problem. Thanks for your help.

I had the sensor swapped out on my G50 back in August last year - still wasn't working with the new one fitted All wiring to speedo checked out fine, second speedo swapped in with it still not working.
Turned out to be a bad batch of sensors from the OPC, new one tried, all working fine.

Thanks for the reply, I guess a bad sensor would make the most sense. The new sensor is a VDO. I need a known good one to test.
