Question Is it Swepco306 15-40

Went to buy Swepco oil for my 87 930 and I wanted 15 40 , but the girl said I needed 3 numbers in front of the 15 - 40 , she said it was 306??? Does this ring any bells, - 306 15 - 40 ???

All of the Swepco lube seem to have three digit numbers to indicate the "model" of oil. The motor oil you likely want is the 306, oil often used for the 915 tranny is 201, etc. Those three numbers are likely 306 if that is the oil you want.

BTW, where are you buying this oil?

It seems like I wouldn't have any trouble finding it- Ft. Worth is not too far away and I drive through there a few times a year... but I don't think I've ever seen Swepco for sale anywhere. Do any auto chains sell Swepco?

I was asking because I have not seen it anywhere. He lives up here in Canada, so I thought he knew of a local source. Pelican sells the stuff, though.

There are a couple garages/race shops here that sell it in Denver, but you won't find it at any retail chains. If you call Swepco, they can let you know of the distributors in your area. Or you can always order it on Pelican...

With ordering from Pelican, I just thought there might be an issue shipping the oil over the border. And the exchange rate is a killer.
