Oil level Sender Torque setting

Hi

I’m replacing the oil gasket for the oil level sender.
What is the torque setting for the 5 small nuts holding the sender to the tank?

I'd be surprised if there is such a thing, but then you never know, with the Germans. I just snug 'em up good. A quick look through my factory workshop manuals doesn't turn anything up...

Tighten it until just before it breaks

The answer is "Not very much." like, 5 ft/lbs.

Or, at my mechanic's shop it's called "shut up and just snug it up."

I haven't found a torque setting neither while I replaced mine. I just did it on feel and no leaks or anything whatsoever...

Not much. You'll find that the cork gasket crushes pretty easily, so overtightening squishes the gasket quite a lot and is not what you want. Snug is a good recommendation!

Thanks for all replays!
The correct numbers seems to be between 30 in lbs and 5 ft lbs or about 3.39 - 6,78 NM

You basically need a special low-torque wrench for that, if you're serious about achieving it. A typical torque wrench--say one that reads from zero to 125 ft.-lbs.--will be inaccurate at both ends of the scale and most accurate in the middle. Use your standard lugnut wrench and you'll be as likely to get 15 ft. lbs. as you will to get two ft.-lbs. Your wrist is more accurate...

There is no real pressure in the tank and the oil level doesn't reach that high, just splashing.
I found that using a little gasket-maker does the trick.

No need to use a torque wrench, just a little past snug.
Small flat- and lock washers are important.

Make sure that the ground is good and that the positive connection is solid on the spade.
