What is this part and where does it go?

I was adjusting the window height on my '88 911 cabriolet. I loosened the 13mm bolt that controls the upper limit of the power window when this little white plastic piece fell out. There's no part number on and and it doesn't look like it broke off anything. I adjusted the window, tightened the bolt without replacing the plastic piece and it seems to work just fine. Anyone know?

That part looks vaguely familiar... I think it is an alignment block that snaps on the bottom of the door trim piece that is on the top surface of the door on the outside right next to the window (trim piece that holds the outer window scraper). There are 6 or 7 other small u-shaped clips that hold the trim on the car and the plastic one helps you line it up fwd/aft when you are installing the trim. Not sure if it doubles as a stop or a bumper for anything, though.

It doesn't jump out at me on the PET diagram, but I'd swear I saw that piece on the trim when I what working on my 78's door a while back....

Hope that helps!
